The Javengers team participated in a road-cleaning activity as part of HAT. Along with the cleanup, the team created awareness about FTC robotics by reaching out to approximately 100 people and explaining the program and its impact. The team also actively participated in the cleaning activities, contributing to both community service and STEM outreach.
This morning, we had the wonderful opportunity to come together and participate in the Adopt-A-Highway Cleanup organized by the Harrisburg Area Tamil Sangam (HATS). It was more than just picking up litterβit was about taking responsibility for our community and showing that small actions can make a meaningful difference.
Our volunteers gathered at 304 E Lisburn Road in Mechanicsburg and spent the morning cleaning the roadside. Equipped with safety vests, gloves, trash bags, and plenty of enthusiasm, adults and kids worked together to collect litter and help make the area cleaner and more welcoming.

One of the best parts of the event was seeing young volunteers actively participating. Community service gives children an opportunity to understand that keeping our surroundings clean is everyone's responsibility. Instead of simply talking about protecting the environment, they were able to experience firsthand what it means to contribute their time and effort toward a better community.
The cleanup was also a great example of teamwork. Everyone supported one another while sharing the same goal: leave the road cleaner than we found it. By the end, the filled trash bags were a visible reminder of what a group of committed volunteers can accomplish in just a few hours.

A big thank you to Harrisburg Area Tamil Sangam (HATS) for organizing this Adopt-A-Highway initiative and providing volunteers with the necessary safety equipment and supplies.
We are proud to have been part of this community effort. Experiences like this remind us that we don't need to do something extraordinary to create change. Sometimes, all it takes is a few hours, a pair of gloves, and people willing to work together.
Cleaner roads. Greener communities. Stronger connections. Together, we can make a difference! ππ
