PENNSYLVANIA CAPITAL AREA ROBOTICS (PACAR) IS A NON-PROFIT ASSOCIATION THAT FOCUSES ON
Raising awareness of STEM and Robotics in the PA Capital Area community through demos, workshops and school visits.
Preparation of sponsored youth FIRST teams for competitions and through continuous learning mentored by association members and outside experts, encourages and assists in the development of innovative solutions to real-world problems, develop computer and robotics skills and to honor the spirit of friendly competition.
Providing support and resources for the benefit and educational growth of the youth team members; to develop a cooperative working relationship between association members; to develop leadership and build capacity for greater involvement; to foster and encourage association member and youth team member participation on all levels; and to provide opportunities and training for members to participate in team governance and decision-making.
Raising funds to support the group, members, and youth team members engage in various fund raising events throughout the year. These events include but are not limited to solicitation of corporate sponsors, robotics boot camps, bake sales, candle sales, sandwich sales, gift wrap events, etc. Funds are used to purchase equipment such as robotics kits, additional parts, and to pay registration fees and various expenses related to attending and participating in FIRST sponsored competitions.
